Another typical Dan Brown novel. This time the theme is based on the myths, and rituals of the Freemasons. The freemasons accept a new person at their 33rd level, thanks to this wealth and influence.

The sister of the Grand Master of the Freemasons has made some major discoveries, in a secret lab in Washington DC, which will revolutionize the scientific society. The Grand Master has lost many of his family members in a near past and has only he and his sister are the ones left out from his family.

A dark force is trying to get the secrets of the Freemasons and is trying to scuttle the success of the sister of the Grand Master. Robert Langdon comes to Washington DC at the request of this friend, the Grand Master of the Freemasons, to address a gathering at the Capitol Hill.

The book revolves around the Freemason based architecture in Washington DC. The journey begins at Capitol Hill and the painting in the rotunda in this building and culminate at the Washington Memorial with many other Freemason buildings thrown in.
